Confidential Sexual Health Care and Contraception

We make it easy for Rotorua people of all ages to get sexual health care and/or birth control advice. Our doctors and nurses provide a range of confidential clinics and services as well as programmes to give people more affordable long-term contraception choices.

Contraception and sexual health clinic: Every Monday morning Rotorua Area Primary Health Services (RAPHS) holds a special contraception and sexual health clinic. The clinic caters for people who prefer not to see their normal family GP for help with contraception and/or sexual health. It also caters for people with complex health issues or who need urgent advice on contraception.
This service is available to men and women of all ages. For appointments or enquiries please phone 07 349 3563.
Charges apply for clients over 25. Clients under 25 are seen free of charge both at this clinic and at the Rotovegas Youth Health and Family Planning Clinic at 1066 Hinemoa Street, phone 07 343 1013.

Long-term contraception: Rotorua residents seeking long-term birth control are welcome to ask their doctor or nurse about our long-term contraception programme. This programme gives more people access to affordable long-term contraception (vasectomies, slow-release contraceptive implants for women).
